Voice Application:

JBO Communications has made available a number of applications to demonstrate our capabilities in the area of Voice Application Design. These include simple prompt playing through to database and web integration.

Prompt Playing:

This simple demonstration involves the playing of a prompt to a caller without answering the call. This is usable if you are offering a 13 / 1300 or 1800 service which is not available to callers from certain areas or mobiles. It allows you to inform the caller that they are outside of your service area or in the case mobiles that they need to call from a fixed line. Here is a simple demonstration of this ability.

  1. From a mobile phone dial (02) 9007-0930.
  2. You will here a prompt played that indicates that the number you have dialed is not available from your service.
  3. The call will disconnect without answer.

Externally Sourced Prompts:

This demonstration show working with audio sourced from external locations. This audio may be either "pulled" meaning that at an agreed time we will download a copy of the audio file or it can be "pushed" meaning that when the audio is read to be placed in service our client will either upload the file to JBO Communications or initiate a download via a web interface.

For a demonstration of a service from the Wireless Institute of Australia using this facility can be heard as follows:

  1. Dial "The Gateway" on 1300 558 592, note that if you call from a mobile this will have a delayed answer and a prompt indicating that the call will not be un-timed.
  2. When prompted dial 9426 and the news will commence at anytime during the play of this press the hash key, "#", to end playback or simply hang up. This audio is updated early Sunday morning resulting in a new version each week.
